I HATE SOLICITORS! Normally I never answer the door... but I was sitting in the living room next to the window and the lady saw me. So I answered. She said she was doing a promotion and would clean and shampoo my carpet for free. I said no a couple of times and she kept insisting... so I agreed. Then she went back to her van... and she brought 2 other men, and they came in. I thought they were going to shampoo my carpet... they set up a vacuum and then they lady and one of the men left. The other man was supposed to shampoo my carpet, but little did I know he was going to try and get me to buy his vacuum. (The Kirby). He spent 4 hours trying to show me how the vaccum worked by vaccuming the walls, the ceiling, my furniture, and even my bed. Never finishing the jobs but just starting then to show me. So I had little coffee filters with piles of dirt on the spread all around the floor (so my baby had no room to play for 4 hours) I had told him I didn't want to buy the vacuum (that cost $2500.00) but he was still demonstrating how it worked... then I told him I had to feed the baby and put her down for a nap. And that I needed him to leave. He tried to call his boss to come and close the deal and pick him up but he wouldn't answer... so we waited for another hour before they finally showed up. They tried to talk me into buying it. (Yeah right) and after talking about it for 30 mins they finally said they would finish up and leave... I told them not to bother because I had just gotten the baby to sleep... and I didn't need them vacuuming and making noise to wake her up. So I told them to leave.... so after all that... I didn't even get my floor vaccumed or shampooed. All I got was a waste of 4 hours, cleaning jobs started and not finished, my bed tore all apart, and a crabby sleep deprived baby.
Then after they left I found out it is against the law to solicit in Hiawatha, IA! And the company (Kirby : MIDwest Elite inc.) Is known for being shady and is on the scam list online. And their contact number on the flier they gave me is a fake!
Needless to say it has been a long day! Please people do not open your door to solicitors!
