These people called my elderly father and said they were calling from the Geek Squad and someone had gotten into his computer and attempted fraud. They said they needed access to his computer to fix it. My father has an account with the Geek Squad so he said ok. They told him he needed this additional coverage to keep him protected and it was $500 and he had to have it. His renewal was coming up with Geek Squad so he paid it. When I found out I immediately called them. Only to find out these were the same people that had scammed him once before. Probably how they knew he had geek squad. Last time I was able to get his money back. This time they refused. I called the credit card company (boa) and they said there is not much they can do because my dad gave his credit card information. They did take the claim but I doubt anything will come of it. My dad is 86 and very good with computers but is too trusting that people are who they say they are. Stay away from these people or anyone that calls you. I told him to tell them he doesn't have time to talk and call them back if it ever happens again. Please tell your parents. I am hearing this more and more. Praying on the elderly.
