"John" contacted me by e-mail, claiming to be looking for private music lessons for his 13-year-old daughter, Mary. Said she lived locally with a cousin, while he, a single parent, was working in Honolulu. His writing doesn't sound like a native English speaker. He said he'd send me a cashier's check in advance for a number of lessons. It sounded fishy, so I googled him and found his name with a similar M.O. on your site. Thank you!
