She was selling a Maltese puppy to me. She said that it would be here yesterday and it wasnt. Then she said I needed to pay first before I could get the puppy. I got the email from Animal Air and it said that their databases were being updated so I couldnt pay online so I would need to pay through western union. Since we don't have one around here I called Animal Air and they told me that it was a scam and that there was no puppy. Thankfully I didnt pay anything at all.

  • Carrie, thank you so much for filing this complaint. Because of you I was able to stop this scam before it got to the point of no return. "Ms. Liliana" tried to sell me a Maltese puppy as well. She told me she just had to give away a male and female Maltese puppy that had belonged to her daughter, who had died in a car accident when driving home from school. She said it was just too painful to continue seeing them everyday, for they were a constant reminder of her "dead daughter". Then, it sounds like she told me the same thing she told you. She said she would book a flight for the female puppy I wanted and then I would pay a shipping cost of $175.00 to the airline who would be contacting me with the flight information. In all, we exchanged 29 text messages and 5 emails, the first one being 10 pictures of "her dead daughter's" adorable puppies. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I was buying into it, getting excited about this new puppy. But I just couldn't, and chose not to, ignore this nagging feeling. So I decided to google her email address. That is when I saw your one, lone complaint. That sinking feeling I felt was horrible. But it could've been so much worse. I copied your complaint and pasted it to my final text to her, along with telling her she's disgusting and I, too, would help to expose this scam by sharing my story online. So again, thank you for posting this complaint and saving me from a lot of unnecessary heartache.
