Complaint 282011 Details

My Boyfriend applied for a loan online, he was called a few days later saying he was approved of the loan, for $15,000 as long as he paid the first 3 months up front, being he had no co-signer, or wanted to put his car up for collateral.

We were emailed the same emails as the reported Beaumont and other related scams online which are IDENTICAL to this one.

He filled out the contract, sent them all his personal information through Fax, and was told to call as soon as the information was sent.
Then he was given information to send the money to Western Union to a place in Toronto.

We dealt with a woman named Emily Drummond.

The money was sent through Western Union with promises the loan money would be deposited in 2-4 hours. This was on a Friday.

Saturday my boyfriend called and asked why it was not deposited, she said she had to speak to her managers on Monday. He called Monday and was told he had to release an additional $850 to pay for the Insurance instead of the first 3 months due to him being a first time loaner.

This is when we realized it was a scam.


Here is an example of the email we received:
Based on the review and assessment of your on-line loan application, we on
behalf of Heritage Premier Funding, would like to Congratulate you on
your approval and it will be confirmed subject to the completion of
formalities. As per the terms and conditions of your loan and
clarifications your assigned loan representative, Ms. Emily Drummond, will await
contact to discuss further details. Please feel free to contact Ms. Emily Drummond
at 1-855-855-3803 Ext# 290 from Monday to Friday between the
hours of 9am to 7pm & on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm EST. Thank you for
choosing Heritage Premier Funding.
