This letter is being sent to all of the above parties in order to try and get this complaint resolved. Let me start begin from the beginning…..I purchased a new 2012 Honda Civic (my first new car) and being not familiar with new car purchases, when I received a letter from Omnisure telling me that my warranty was about ready to expire, I panicked and gave them a call to take care of this. It was then that I spoke to any employee there at Omnisure and was advised that I needed an extended warranty on my car to cover anything that might go wrong after the policy had expired. I did not know at the time the warranty that Honda puts on new cars ( I was very ignorant to new car warranties ). So to insure coverage on my car I decided to do as they advised. What I did not know that THEY KNEW that my car was still under warranty and everything was covered by Honda without any deductible. The guy that I spoke to had me believing that this was almost mandatory to keep my car running in good condition and to cover just about everything pertaining to the performance of the car, so I gave them a credit card number to cover the initial down payment $150.00 and I was told my payment would be $78.87 per month for 24 months for a total of $2,042.88. I am currently in the Navy and took my car to a Honda dealer for service ( I only have 1,521 miles on my car) and inquired about this coverage and was told Honda backs up its new car and that the warranty was of no use to me unless I expected to keep the car for more than 3 years and that usually within the first 9-12 months insurance companies send out those type of letters to individuals to purchase their policies under the same condition that they sent to me..the policy was about to expire.

After hearing this I call Omnisure Tuesday Oct. 8 (800-443-7038) to cancel the policy and to see what refund I could get in return. First of all Jeff was very rude to me and he transferred me and I was disconnected so I called back and I don’t remember the person’s name I spoke with he did not seem pleased to know I wanted to cancel. He tried to convince me of the need of this coverage in the future I told him I was not interested in keeping it, this went on for several minutes finally he put me on hold and when he came back he said his boss would reduce my monthly payment to $50.00 something. I again advised him I wanted to cancel he then told me I was not going to get my money back only small percentage and I would have to send or fax a letter of cancellation to the company with my name (Personal Information Removed),account number (Personal Information Removed), reason I think they are running a scam ,miles on car 1,5021 and to sign and date it and a check would be sent to me.

Well after speaking to them I decided to check on line if this company was a scam and much to my surprise there are several complaints on line regarding this company and 1 complaint was getting a refund back.
