This charming 50 year old gentleman, US born to an Austrian mother, started communicating with me through the CM site from Bristol, UK, then moved back to US (Huntington Station, NY) within days, at the beginning of August. He likes to be called Richard Green, but also goes as Henry Backer ([email protected])and Benny Smith,([email protected]). By the end of August he was travelling out to South Africa, as he claims to be a geologist and works as a mining/oil expert for 'Isico Oil and Gas',(which really exists), to sort out some 'problem' out there along with his US crew. By this stage he was professing all sorts of long-term committments and undying love for me, and I was almost taken in. As well as e-mailing and messenging me through 'Yahoo Messenger', he texted and called a couple of times. Then there was a dreadful 'accident' with the 'towing rig'in South Africa, leaving 2 locals dead and 4 critically injured! As time went on,(by now it's the end of September), some fundraising was being done by his 9 other US workmates, (known to him as 'the Rascals'), 2 were his best friends - Nelson and Carlos. He conveniently forgot my birthday, but still kept saying that he would be coming to the UK, for maybe 1-2 months! On further investigation (through this site and others), I found that he had used the same photograph as he had 'scammed' on other dating sites - since 1998. The other photo that he e-mailed me turned out to be from a professional photographer called Bruno T. from Italy! To date, he has scammed from South Africa, Nigeria, Germany. UK and US! He says that he speaks English, German and Austrian (he has a distictive accent)- his English sentence structure is bizarre to say the least. I challenged him about his aliases on IM, after reporting him to everybody possible - Needless to say, I haven't heard from him since!! However, I had another scammer e-mailing me verbatum what Richard Green had done even yesterday! He used a different name this time - Arnold Nicholas, different State - Montana, US, (e-mail [email protected]) - he was removed by CM immediately. There are some real 'scallies' out there. Luckily, I wasn't taken in - forearmed is forewarned! Many thanks.
