Like others, I received a "money order" for $985 from someone named Rick and was told via an email from someone called Eric Dorvil to go to my bank, cash it, keep $150 for being a "mystery shopper," and then use Western Union to send the balance to another "mystery shopper" (Mark Didier) in Chicago. I then received a very urgent email from Eric Dorvil, asking me to get in touch with Western Union and change the name of the recipient (to Stephen Howard). I was told by Western Union that I would have to go back to the store from where I had sent the money. I spent almost two hours there, getting a refund processed, filling out a new form with the new recipient's name (Stephen Howard) on it, only to have the second transaction rejected by Western Union. I ended up speaking with a rep from Western Union's Fraud Department, who could or would not tell me why the transaction was being rejected.

I've just now done a bit of research, and I understand it's all a scam. I will go to my bank tomorrow and explain what happened. Meantime, I'm out lots of time and a bit of gas money. Thankfully I did not spend any other my "commission," which I assume the bank will want back!

Beware, everything about this scam sounded legit, but it's obviously a way for a group of unscrupulous individuals to create their own money at innocent individual's expense!!!
