We received a check in the mail from Reliance Performance Marketing and I called the bank to verify it. When I called the bank, there was a woman on the voice mail who said to call another number. Upon calling that number, a foreigner answered the phone (this call was to New Castle, DE Citibank). Then when the answer I was given by the person on the phone was not sufficient, I asked for a supervisor who gave me a little more info, but said "third party inquires are not permitted". This person, too, was a foreigner. When my husband called the bogus company, it was a Nigerian on the line. SCAM. SCAM. SCAM.
