I had been receiving verbal reports rom Speedy Pro every time I turned on my computer telling me I had 5,907 errors on my computer and that I needed to buy their software to get rid of them. I could not get rid of theSpeedy Pro"virus" nomatter what I did. It was blocking my progress in trying to fill out a jobapplication, and this voice would come on and tell me I had x-errors, etc. I finally consented to purchase it and sent the money via credit card. Then they instructed me to call a phone number which I did. I guy I spoke to, on the phone took over my computer without my permission and started looking through all of my files. I did not give him permission to do that. He kept telling me I had bad errors and pointed to one in particular from Best Buy, which I already knew was on my computer since I bought it and did no harm. He warned me that someone could go into my private banking site and access and remove money from my account or interfere with my credit cards. I told him that until I started receiving Speedy Pro error notices, I never had any problems with my computer. I thought one had to get permission to enter ones private files and the ide crossed y mind that maybe he had something to do with Homeland Security. He also told me I needed to spend $400 to have someone look at my computer. I told him I already had Kaspursky anti-virus and that it worked fine for me. He told me that Speedy Pro only dealt with the registry. I told him Kaspursky also dealt with the registry. I then told him I am a widow living on fixed income, and have been out of work since 2008 an that I could not afford to pay such money an that I would have to give up the use of my computer because it i s obviously too expensive for me. After I hung up the phone those air message continued to come on telling me of the number of errors I had and I was outraged to think my investment of $29.95 was to no avail. I am so fed up which is why I am writing this long document. This is a scam if there ever was one and I resent someone invading my privacy. Surely this is illegal if I didn't give permission. It is all so unfair!
