We walked through Puerto Vallarta airport to catch our shuttle to our resort, on the way we were approached by people in blue shirts, they said they were the ones, the next thing you know we were out $400 and had agreed to see a timeshare presentation in return we would get our $400 back and would get 4 tickets to a cruise, dinner and show. We agreed and were picked up by a strange man the next day who on the way changed cabs and someone else got in, you would think that would have made me say no way, right!? Anyway, the guys at VG convinced us they would get us out of an existing timeshare, market our weeks and we would be literally out no $. Too good to be true, I know we were a bunch of putzes. Anyway, we got nothing in the mail from them so far and immediately after returning home, I starting looking on line and realized really quickly that we had been scammed. The company they did their "re marketing" through was new and had no business ratings (since May they have terminated their agreement with this company who I have learned in the meantime has not helped anyone at all, and has just taken their $) I put a down payment on my AMEX card and have since I figured out the scam, cancelled my card and raised a fraud alert with my Credit Card. All the sales reps were wearing ReMax badges, we were told that they were a collaborative, between ReMax in the US and that they got people to come down on ReMax to purchase property, I found out right after I got home that ReMax has a law suit against these guys for using their name, they have no such agreement. I have recently been able to be in contact with many others who have also been scammed by VG, we just don't know who is honest and who can help us to get out of these agreements. Many people, i.e. a lady with terminal cancer, a couple where the wife is the single bread winner, retired people who don't have the $, all who signed up with the understanding that they would be able to market their weeks and not be out any $. We've all been scammed and we are all looking for a way out, hopefully able to cancel the contracts and get our $ back would be the preferred option. I hope someone out there can help us. There are so many places who say they can get us out of these deals, however, when you start reading, sounds like they are scam artists as well :( Thanks for your help!
