I responded to an ad for a free trial offer of Alore and Lorelia skin care products, which I only needed to pay a small amount of shipping for.

On September 12 2013, when I had only recently received the trial offer products and I was 48 hours into using them my credit/debit card was charged with two $100 CAD (approx) charges for the products. I managed to contact the company the same day they charged my card – on what they actually said was Day 14 – but it now appears that the 14 day trial is actually a 13 day trial (without the product), and they said it was too late to cancel and be refunded as I should have contacted them BEFORE 14 days (from time of order?).

Their customer service rep was extremely cold, uncaring and refused to transfer me to anyone more senior to her and would not give me any details regarding the company – e.g. manager, owner, complaints, etc. I am devastated about the money and to make matters worse, their product caused itchy, red bumps to form on my face.

I really want to do something about this irresponsible and unethical company and their terrible product, but do not know where to turn.

Update: 09/19/2013

I also ordered the "free" trial of Alore and Lorelia skin care products for my daughter at the same time as I ordered mine. Charges totalling $ 213 AUD made to my Visa card Sept 12.

Update: 09/19/2013

It is also important to note that that upon reviewing the Alore advertisement and confirmation emails, I still couldn't see any information about being charged the full product price after 14 days or being signed up for an auto shipment and charges!
