This was my first experience using Craigslist and clearly I was unprepared. I was looking to get good seats to a concert coming up. I found this guy who offered a great price for great seats and started communicating with him through text. It was four tickets I was looking to buy and I was trying to convince my friends to go with me, luckily most of them weren't getting back to me. He said that he went to UVIC and that he would transfer the tickets to me. The guy messaged me with urgency saying that he was holding the tickets for me but he that he could use the cash so we agreed that I would buy two and he would hold the other two till monday. He himself brought up the options to either send the money first, or to do half the payment and have the other half be sent after receiving the tickets. I was very close to just doing the full payment but I thought that there was no harm in being cautious. So I sent him the payment and he has not answered calls or texts. I feel incredibly naive and foolish. I'm not a gullible person whatsoever but it seemed very legitimate. It will probably be a long time before I use Craigslist again if ever, but I have if nothing learned my lesson. I'm just glad it wasn't worse.
