These 2 young adults came to my apartment saying that they were among a group of students at the University of New Mexico speech class. The assignment was to introduce themselves to complete strangers. The young man said that he got out of the army and started college. Then they said they were in a competition by asking for donations for books that would be sent to hospitals all over the country. They wanted to sell me 2 books, one 1 from him and the other one from the young lady, I had only 1 check left so he said that he would have to take money out of his college fund to cover the other order (I filled out the form already). He said he was going to come back tomorrow for the money but he would pay for it tonight so he could turn in the order.
After they left I was suspicious so I ended up stopping payment on that check. The young man said that his grandmother lived in the apartment complex. I doubt that.
