I received, what I thought to be, a phone call from Windows this morning concerned about errors on my laptop, which resulted in them gaining access view Event View and telling me that I needed to pay £164 to get a lifetime protection from the company. They were very pushy and when I told them that I would check them out and call back in 10 minutes, was told that my computer could be hacked within 20 minutes and, if so, it wasn't their responsibility. The guy wasn't pleased that I was querying his credentials!! I see there is a lot about this scam online, now, and just hope that I haven't been hacked by giving them access.
As an aside, the technician told me that Norton does not protect Windows 7 and that they had been taking my money without providing any cover; very slanderous.
Thanks
Michelle
