Cherie Young of CherieYoung.com/Internet Marketing Strategies/BeautifulCustomMaps.com, claims to be a seasoned Realtor and web developer very good at implementing IDX into Web sites for real estate companies, then she doesn't deliver and costs client's time and money.

I am a consultant and also a web developer, I have gotten away from web development and had no experience implementing IDX 3rd party tools that is why I sought to find a good developer for my client. I thought I knew the right questions to ask, trouble is she lied about almost everything. We took her at her (verbal) word and was misled by her samples of work. She verbally reassured me many times and promised my client a completed web site within 6 weeks and then did not deliver. She took their down payment of $3750 and 7.5 weeks into the project when she hadn't produced even one mock-up and was asked to refund the money, she refused and insisted she finish their web site despite claiming tremendous personal stress (excuses for not delivering)such as (Personal Information Removed) being molested and that she works with starving artists and cannot request they refund the money she already paid them! I believe she will use Pay Pal policies to further victimize people and blame companies like Diverse Solutions for delays and do anything she can to "stall" until weeks are lost and there is no way to dispute with Pay Pal, (her accomplice in my opinion)and not only does she keep down payment money for work she hasn't done but like a mad woman insists that she has "a signed contract". Her contracts are a joke, when I had an issue with my client signing her contract she promised "it's alright the job will be done correctly and on time".

I found another person she ripped off months ago and she used "her personal tragedy story" with them too, I think that is incredibly sad. Even if it is true which I doubt it is, how awful is that to exploit your family. It's one thing to use as an excuse to be delayed or cancel a project but to use that to justify and steal other people's money and play on their sympathy...unbelievable...so I doubt it is true at all!

When you try to pay her with check or credit card she insists you use Pay Pal. She will not give out her address when you ask for it...via her online chat support...why? A legitimate business should have no problem refunding money for work they have not done...I believe she is in-fact a seasoned crook and a master con artist, anyone doing business with her should pay an attorney a couple hundred dollars to review her contract or risk losing thousands - trust me there are no protections for a client in her "contract"! Anyone doing business with her should really, really, be wary - if you are crazy enough then be sure you have an "out" when she doesn't deliver and do not give her a down payment, you'll never see it again... another person online has a page dedicated to her stealing from others in an attempt to warn others, unfortunately we did not connect with the owner of the site until it was too late. Google "Cherie Young complaints" and you will find his link and contact information. He has a full list of others she has ripped off as well, his name is (Personal Information Removed). I did ask her about him before I hired her and she also told a tremendous pack of lies about him and was very convincing.

    This is my story:

    True custom websites are pieces of artwork. They take time to develop and create. You can see from my portfolio at www.cherieyoung.com that our work is of the highest caliber.

    I have clients that I have worked for many years with. Real estate websites are complicated. It is no longer ok to have a basic design, you must know IDX, mobile searching, tablet compatibility, social networking and tools that enable the visitor to have a great experience.

    I am not a seasoned REALTOR. I have had a license in Colorado in the early 1990's and then moved into becoming a loan officer in Colorado Springs. I moved back to my home area in San Diego and became licensed in California. I had a great opportunity to work for a company that specialized in real estate websites. I learned how real estate websites work and who the best companies were. From there I knew that I wanted to work in the technology side of real estate. I wanted to create my own style of artwork and give the client their custom site. When I first started with real estate websites, it was almost unheard of to have a quality site with the right tools and own your site.

    Several years ago, real estate and Word Press became synonymous with great design, usability, scalable and owning your website.

    I am seasoned in how to create a stunning web presence and the best tools in the industry that help the visitor search for properties. I ask all clients to research any company that I refer them to. There are several top IDX companies, including Diverse Solutions. www.DiverseSolutions.com.

    We were working with a client that I had recently installed DS (Diverse Solutions) on their site. We knew how the site should perform based on the IDX we were forwarding their pay-per-click to.

  • After launching their new site, we saw a dramatic decrease in leads over a 3 day period and the client requested that we forward the links back to their old IDX. DiverseSolutions.com is a great company, and I continue to refer my clients to them. IDXBroker.com and ihomefinder.com are also top IDX companies.

    I shared this experience with Kris and asked her to be sure of the IDX company that she asks her client to sign up with. I gave her multiple companies to review. I asked her to be sure about their final IDX decision. I have had clients unhappy with their IDX company and always want that to be their own decision.

    As far as a company that has dedicated a page to complaints, so what. There are a few complaints. It was with an seo company that I disagreed with the work they had performed on a client's site. I don't know of anyone who has been in business for a long time that doesn't have a few unhappy people.

    This does not define my work or my character. I have worked on hundreds of websites and have custom websites that are still out there looking gorgeous and happy clients.

    Regarding the extra time that it was taking - a few weeks. I did not want to share my personal problems with Kris. I felt that I could trust her and needed her to know that there was a reason why I needed a little extra time. What I had shared with her was in confidence. I never imagined she would put this out to the world. I certainly would not put this on a website anywhere, as it is painful.

    I shared with Kris that there was a rape in my family. The overwhelming anger, grief, shame and loss are impossible to describe. I needed to take care of business, take care of this matter and it required time outside of the office. I continued to work long hours, as I always have.

    I respond to this because someone out there has been through this. Family, loved ones, church, business all pointing the finger and placing shame and unbelief. Basically you are lying.

  • I called Kris to explain why I needed a little extra time. We had been working on the design, but it was not ready to show the client. It was turning out beautiful, but the first draft is almost never the final. We always make sure it is as good as we hope it can be. She demanded to see the work, and I have learned that this does not work when we are halfway into the initial mockup. I assured her that we were working on the design.

    I then called her and shared my very private and painful problem. I was crying so hard I could hardly breathe. She said it was too late, didn't matter, the owner of the company would not care. I told Kris that I certainly can complete this project and in the time stated in our agreement, which was 4 months from our start date.

    I sent the design that we had, which I was happy with as a starting point. I never know how a client will respond to the design and very open to any changes, even if it is to completely start over on a design. This is how our work morphs into the beautiful work that we are very proud of.

    I didn't hear back, I sent many emails to the client and Kris requesting feedback. After weeks go by, she calls me. She said it was too late, I was lying and oh by the way, I recorded our conversations on behalf of the client. After my shock, I was relieved. I had nothing to hide and at no time ever said I could not complete the work. I welcome whatever phone recordings to share my complete sadness and that I was very capable and happy to finish the work. Kris said the client instructed her with a gag order to not communicate with me. I don't understand this.

    I do not need to provide proof to Kris, although I can. The supposed phone recording will be of a heartbroken person who trusted her enough to share this in confidence.

    If you have been raped and experience anyone in your life that calls you a liar, you are not alone. If the event is not painful enough, what follows is sometimes worse.

  • Because Kris has made this public, maybe there is someone reading this who is going through something similar. Someone is attacking your character, you deserved it, you are a horrible person. Please do not buy into this. You never deserve to be raped or molested in any way. If there are people saying this, know that it is not true. You are a beautiful person and deserve to be loved. Surround yourself with even one person that loves you. Find a group, a friend, a teacher that will love on you. You will be called a liar and that you deserved this. There are many times when it cannot be proved because you waited, you were too ashamed to tell anyone. It's ok, you know the truth.

    Do not take your life, and do not share this with anyone that you cannot completely trust. You are valuable and can move through this and help someone else. Your grief will not last, I promise this. God loves you.

    I agreed to pay Kris a $1,000 referral fee, of which I have paid her $500. If she had any questions, she could have called the seo company, who is based the Philippines. Kris asked me about this in the beginning, and I told her how I saw this and what happened.

    I process all my payments through Paypal as do thousands of businesses. On the Paypal invoice, you are sent my address. I do not hide my address.

    I do not force anyone to work with me, nor do I force them into an agreement.

    The statements made to the client that I said I was working with another client who paid me more and that I cannot finish the job is simply untrue. There was never a phone conversation or email stating anything like this. My emails were always that I can finish and in the time stated in our contract.

    I always felt this was an incredible honor to work with this client and super excited to work on a ranch type of design as I love the outdoors and horses.

    I would love to finish the work that I started for this client.
