Like others, I was contacted by this company & offered 20 vouchers(worth $10 each) which could be used to cover accomodation costs or meals at hotels at more than 1500 hotels across Australia, N.Z.& Asia/Pacific.This cost me $169(special price for that day only!!)
I recently tried to make a booking at a Sydney hotel through hotelbargains.com.au but had extreme difficulty completing the booking online. I tried 3 different phone numbers but was unable to make direct contact with them - as if the numbers were disconnected or operator busy. They mysteriously returned my call & when I complained about not being able to make the booking online,was told that they could complete the booking over the phone if I paid a deposit of $20.90 by credit card with the balance payable at the hotel on arrival. When I checked my account statement, I noticed that the money had not been debited. I rang the hotel to check if a booking had in fact been made in my name & surprise, surprise -NO BOOKING!! The hotel manager had never heard of or dealt with the company.Not sure about the deposit I was supposed to make, but all up I reckon I have been SCAMMED to the tune of $190!
