On Saturday July 13th, 2013 I spent the day shopping with my daughter who is 9 months pregnant about to give birth at any moment and my granddaughter who is three years old. We were shopping at the Cesar’s Bay Shopping Center. I went to return a pair of pants at Kohls and then we looked around, after Kohls we went to Babies/Toys R US where we visited guest services, purchased a diaper bag, used the restroom and looked at toys. Our last receipt states that we purchased the diaper bag at 11:57 am on July 13th. After the purchase we went to the restroom and then my three year old granddaughter was admiring the toys. When we left the store we went to get our car and leave. We could not find it, and we thought we were losing our minds, that we must have forgotten where we parked exactly. I kept pressing the button on my keys that would start the alarm. I began freaking out thinking it was stolen, a nearby worker said to check the towing company. So I called the private towing company Custom Wreckers Inc. located at 2481 McDonald Avenue and they had my car. I had to leave my pregnant daughter and granddaughter at the shopping center and get my car. I tried to explain I was in the stores, and they did not care they would not look at my receipts or anything they said I must have went to the nearby amusement park. This is an impossibility with the amount of time accounted for according to the receipts; the towing receipt says they took my car at 12:35pm, not to mention the fact that it was extremely hot out and my daughter was 9 months pregnant. The workers thought this was a funny matter, as I did not if there was an emergency we were stranded in that parking lot. I was forced to pay to get my car back, and I was and still am very upset over this. I went to complain to Toys R Us and they said there is nothing they can do about it since it is a private towing company, but this was not the first complaint that they heard about from their customers. I cannot shop at these stores anymore, because I don’t feel that my car is safe. I also believe that this is a scam that they are running as many customers that day were complaining.
