I was offered a job through EnerGulf Resources Inc. (the real EnerGulf is without the 'Inc.' in the name). This was already fishy since they said I would be hired without my references, no interview and only based on my resume. They offered just over $80,000 a year. You know the old saying:'when it's too good to be true, it usually is'? Perfect example. I got through getting a job offer, then signing a contract, then they set up a 'relocation lawyer' with me. His alias is Mr. Gareth Francis. He sent over the GATSA papers and I completed those, sent over the passport info, GATSA papers and insurance info. Then he told me I needed to do a work visa to work in London. He got me in contact with Norwich Assurance. I was in contact with a Mr. Phillip Hill, and he told me to pay the premium. Probably the only smart thing I did at this point was to question everything as a suggestion from friends and family. So, by logic, if I can't trust the insurance company, I can't trust the Lawyer and the only way I can find out if there's a company or not is to call the company. The phone in London never picked up. The phone in Houston, Texas picked up but told me the company was closed for the day- in the middle of the day and non-holiday. I finally called Quebec and that's where I finally got answers. There is no Inc. in the name, they don't have offices in London, they've been getting several calls about this and unfortunately a few of them have been asking for their money back. I already sent in my two week notice, I hope I can get my job back.
