I was billed for $50 worth of merchandise. I paid the entire bill via my Bill Pay at my bank. The check was cashed by Macy's on 5/24 (due date was 5/26). The next month I was charged the original $50 + $27 late fee's. When I complained, I was told PAY UP. Since I had already paid the $50, I sent them a check for only the $27. The next month I received a bill for the $50 + $37 late fee. They finally discovered that I had paid my bill to a second Macy's account number that we had discontinued using long ago.

My complaint, they sent an invoice when there was activity on the one account that would result in late fee's for them, but did not send an invoice showing a + balance on the account where nothing was owed!

They have "said" they would cancel the $37 late fee and credit the $50 to the proper account. I told them I wanted my $27 returned -- we will see what happens.

I feel they are only interested in getting high late fee's from customers and making no effort whatsoever to help their clients.
