I have been a customer of Bell Aliant for many years. Last year alone, they received $ 5,201 from my small 6 bedroom Bed and Breakfast in Newfoundland. During the winter months, it is difficult for me to pay all my bills on time, but I have always have my bills paid up by the summer when I get the most of my business. During this time Bell Aliant also receives interest on the money I have owed them.
As a business, my cell phone is important for guests to contact me regarding their stay, as well as bookings that are coming in on a regular basis. I can not operate my business without my cell phone, as all calls are redirected to my cell.
I had a recent bill (May 24, 2013) of $ 1596.63 and paid $ 596.63 on June 6, 2013. I planned to pay the rest owing in July when my income was better.
Without any warning today, Bell Aliant cut off my home phone and cell phone.
I have guests coming in tonight that are unable to contact me. I have guests that are booking that are unable to contact me. I am losing business because of a company without a heart - without looking back on my past business or loyalty.
I spent at least an hour on the phone talking with different people, and finally talked with "James" in repair. He said he would reconnect me within 2 - 24 hours after I had paid $1000. on my bill.
I paid the $ 1000. at a time that was difficult for me, when I required the money for other uses.
My complaint is for companies that take advantage of small businesses that they supply a service to - small companies that pay a huge amount for their service - and then bully them at a time when they are weak. Bell Aliant has bullied my small business.
