My name is Elizabeth Fontana (Personal Information Removed) and I hired Michael Kovaleski owner of Metro Quality Repairs LLC located at 1011 West White Oak St. Independence, Mo 64050 phone 816-298-3930 . He was paid $6,000 to do a remodeling job on my home. When you meet him you will think I found the man for my job. He arrives appearing extremely energetic, excited to work on your home and charismatic about life and helping others. In the beginning he appeared to have a solid work ethic. Starting early in the morning and telling you everything you want to hear about the quality of work he plans to deliver. However, time will reveal he knows how to appear to be a hard worker in the first few days but all he does is rip stuff out, move a few things around, and talk a lot about personal trials and tribulations to appear as if he's doing the best he possibly can. I purchased the materials from Home Depot and have receipts for $2,500 and he did not install the purchased materials or return them to me. He is incredible with words and stories and slowly sucked more and more money out of me for labor. One day, before his lack of character was totally obvious, he asked if I would like to sell a vehicle and I agreed. He said he would take it to a friend's auto shop for a simple sensor installation and collected $300 for parts. After months of inquiring he would not disclose where my vehicle was and completely stopped working on the remodeling job. I had to report the car stolen and have never seen it again. When confronted I received one sob story after another and countless lies about his integrity.

He owns a sobriety home and uses this as a cover for decency in the community and people assume he is a stand up man. Come to find out, the unfortunate reality is he collects well over $1,000 in rent per month and his tenants live in a nasty mice infested dump. In addition, he is a hypocrite as I ran his criminal record and he is still in active addiction with current drug related charges yet he is entrusted to lead others on their difficult journey to sobriety.

To date he has not returned the $3,400 materials I purchased or my car. I told him I would wash the labor money I had given him in exchange for my vehicle and the materials and he did not do that. Although, he made it as difficult as possible telling me he would arrive on a certain date and time or was in route etc. etc. etc. His sob stories were quite intense and he came across as very sincere in the beginning; all part of the act. He's a straight up con artist and uses new and dynamic contrived stories when he is desperate for pity. It has been said that a good person cannot feel anger and pity at the same time. Mr. Kovaleski must know this all too well and employs this strategy consistently on his victims. I strongly encourage individuals who have been used by this person to step up so we can prevent him from hurting others.
