This hotel change caused us so much grief, emotional distress, financial, First off we planned a destination wedding in Punta Cana because we got engaged in Mexico at the Barcelo Palace Deluxe. So to be on the safe side we booked our wedding there. For about one year I was trying to be in contact with the hotel wedding planner. What a joke that was because we were unable to get any actual answers until we got there. We got there and met our wedding planner after going through 3 people. We paid an extra $1700.00 on our wedding planner and recieved 2 things that were good, our flowers and the beach set up. The dinner for our wedding was horrible, the men in the wedding party got turned away from the resturant we booked at because of their open toed sandals due to the fact we had a beach wedding and came straight up after the wedding. My mother in tears, step dad told the manager where to go, and nobody wanted to eat here. Our food was horrible, I as the bride was cut off after one glass of champagne and had to add to half glass of champagne of other guests to get one glass. Our cake was terrible, all the food was wrong. Had to share the room with other wedding groups. Why did we pay extra?!!!! Could have just called for reservations for the group to share the wedding with everyone else. We were unable to upgrade to a honeymoon suite on our wedding night. Our only upgrade was to another pathetic room. We couldn't upgrade to premium cuz there was no availabity or so they said. All the food was horrible except for the Spanish resturant. Everything was terrible there. We all wanted to leave. The vacation was horrible to the other guests and they spent thousands of dollars to come to our wedding. Our room was disgusting, phone didn't work, and smelled. The service at Barcelo was worse than anything I've ever experienced in our lives. Had to basically serve ourselves. My husband was choking, and had to scream to get a drink to help him clear his throat and breath. Our wedding was a disaster and I'm so disgusted with everything, it makes me sick. We spent 2700 to get there and stay at the resort and then an extra 1700 for nothing. Just ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!
