My apartment manager is charging me $189.00 in late fees on my rent. I was short on my rent for the month of May $25. I had made an arrangement that it will be paid on the 23rd of May and no extra charges would be added. They were aware that i was unemployed due to me being injured. On Friday the 17th of May i had gone to work at 3:00pm Around 3:45pm I had called my mother who was at my home and she had told me there was a note that was put in my door a few minutes before my phone call saying that if the $25. was not paid by 4:30 that same day i was to pay $189. I was unable to leave work to take care of the situation and also same for my mother who was watching my son who is 4yrs old and also she had a meeting with child protection service person who was also at my home at that time she was unable to help me with this situation. I had made an attempt to call to let Amber Jorge (who wrote the note)know of my situation of not being able to give her the money and i had got a recording on the phone that they were experiencing technicial difficulties they i could not talk to anyone. I feel that having a half hour notice of having money given to them in a money order is very unfair when we set up an arrangement that it will be paid the following week. there are other problems with this company that they do to scam us (as far as us tenants) of money like paying for a water bill when they run water every hour for watering rocks whats that about?
