I applied for a payday loan through a lender network. I received and email from a company claiming to be Cash Advance America Pay Day Loan. The email contained loan documents and also informed me to call to confirm the loan and to complete the process. I called the number given, 1-510-907-8941 and spoke with "loan officer" Jack Peterson, who had a VERY heavy middle-eastern accent. He asked for all of my information and then informed me that I needed to provide proof of a deposit amount by going to the store and purchasing a Vanilla Reload Card and then depositing the agreed amount of $100 on to it. The original amount that I was told to deposit was $210 to receive $1500 with monthly payments of $210 for 8 months. I told him I only had $100. He proceed to tell me that If I can make this deposit, call him with the voucher number, then I will receive the deposit of $1000 instead of $1500 inot my account the same day. He needed to call back after talking to his "Supervisor" to ensure that $100 was acceptable; and of course it was. I thought that was odd. So, reluctantly, I did excatly as he aked. Then he said he would call back with a security code and that the bank will also call for that security code. I knew then at this moment that I was screwed. I have never heard of a bank calling you to verify a deposit. He never called with that security number, I had to call him. He gave me the number, "98" and said the bank should be calling soon. Of course, they never called me. I called him back and asked about the bank, he said he would call me back in a few minutes so that he could check on the bank. He never called. I called him back after some time and asked about the situation and he said that the bank will not let the deposit through because it requires "tax charges" for that amount. I knew even more so that I was screwed, but attempted to continue to communicate. He said he could wire the money Western Union, but I had to pay the fee of "148 for that, the same way with the Vanilla Card. At this point, he was playing me for a full, but he didn't know that I already knew about it by then. I told him that I will not send more money, and explained ot him why. I also asked to have the entore transaction/loan agreement cancelled, and he said that this is fine, but that he sould not returnthe $100 because he already attached it to the $1000 via western union and it was sent. WOW. I wish I knew how to send money via Western Union so quickly! At the end of all this, I continued to ask for my money back because the agreement of the loan was not met. He turned me down, called me a fool because I said his company was a fraud, and hung up on me. He also would night provide an address to there location, of course. I honestly think that it is him, and a few other guys running this scam out of their home. DO NOT SEND THEM ANY MONEY!!!

What is even worst is that I have read complaints about them before sending them money for the loan, because I was skeptical from the start, but I continued anyway, because I was desperate for the loan. I called them the next moprning as a new person unknown, and asked for yheir address. He would not give it to me, he just wanted my name.

Again I say... DO NOT GO GET A RELOADABLE CARD AND PUT MONEY ON IT AND DO NOT GIVE THEM THE VOUCHER NUMBER. If you wanna play detective, give them the wrong number to see what they do.

I lost $100, they will not return it. I checked the balance in the middle of the process of trying to get this loan, and the card had alreay been redeemed. They can get the money, but they will tell you they cannot.

If this has happened to you, PLEASE Change your bank account number just to be safe. They may not use it because they will not want to be traced, but just to be safe. I did.
