I operate a small business, so when I received an email offering Government Grant information "for only $2.95 for S&H" I gave them my credit card information. A few days later a charge appeared on my statement for about $60. I thought "Maybe I missed something in the fine print, but if I get the promised workbook it's OK." About a month later another charge for about $60 came off my account and I still had received no workbook. At this point I called my bank and had them reverse, then block the withdrawing account. This morning another $59.08 was taken from my account. When I called my bank, they found that the withdrawing account's routing number had been changed by 2 digits, thereby bypassing the block.

Solution: call your bank and have them cancel your existing credit card and issue another card. I'll be without a card for about a week, but they won't have that information. File a report with Scambook.com if you have the same or a similar story.

By the way ... the $2.95 never appeared on my bank statement!
