At the end of March 2013, I received a telephone call from "Microsoft Security". A Mr. Pat Walters , who said that they received notice that some of the Microsoft drivers on my lap top were not automatically updating.They needed to check it out on my computer.In February of 2013 I thought I had subscribed to this security service for the life of my computers. The cost $500.00 was charged to my credit card. After a while "Pat" said that accounting said that I was over charged and they needed to refund $200.00.I told them to credit the credit card but he said they had to credit my checking account which made no sense to me. So I gave them a checking account that I had just opened with USAA that had $200 balance. "Pat" said it would be going through Western Union. The next day I checked my account and did not see any credit. I just happened to review my credit card account and saw that two,(2) charges for $200.00 each were pending. The following day, a CHARGE to my checking account came through. I notified USAA, who stopped the UNAUTHORIZED DRAFT and then returned the charges to my credit card also. They gave me a new account, closing out the old one.
Today I got a letter from Western Union who is demanding I pay them $204.98 because the draft was returned after they paid the fraudulent party. Too bad , but they have no recourse to me on an unauthorized draft. But they are threatening to turn it over to a collection agency!
