On March 18, 2013 I saw a Colossus Gyro Metal 3.5ch RTF RC Helicopter (Item#: 9SIA06S0MM7669) on the NewEgg website (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA06S0MM7669&nm_mc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel&cm_mmc=TEMC-RMA-Approvel-_-Content-_-text-_- ) on sale for $99 (regular $149) with free shipping, and thought it would be a great gift for my grandchildren, so I purchased it (NewEgg Order#: 162941915). I received my order confirmation from NewEgg, and the item was delivered on March 26th. I immediately opened the box and found that the item was defective.I called NewEgg and was advised that the order was handled by one of their Marketplace sellers (HobbyTron), and that I needed to call them for resolution. I called HobbyTron, and they advised me that I needed to contact NewEgg the seller for resolution. I called NewEgg back, and was again referred to HobbyTron. I explained that HobbyTron was referring me to them, and they advised me that there was nothing they could do. When I protested and explained that I only purchased the item from NewEgg because they were accredited by the Better Business Bureau (and HobbyTron is not), they agreed to contact HobbyTron directly and try to resolve the matter. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful, and now I’m stuck with $100 worth of worthless plastic.I feel that, since the product was defective right out of the box, I’m entitled to a full refund, with return postage paid by the seller. (I checked with USPS & UPS, and my rate for return postage would be $60-65). As stated above, I purchased the item from NewEgg because they are accredited by the BBB, and I felt that that was assurance of fair treatment.Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
