  • In reference to this complaint, let it be known, certain items on a check is considered crucial in justifying it's validity. One most important feature on a check is the signature line. It is called a signature line for various reasons. 10 to 15 years ago, there were no such thing as a machine initiated authorization for signing a check. A check without a signature was considered nonvalid. Today, we cannot afford to allow mechanical signatures as an authorization for the same reason there weren't any such authorization 10 or 15 years ago. Yes, in binding documents, understandable. A check is a check and the safety ramifications used yesterday to establish it's validity is needed today, moreso. I question the authority who seem to feel we consumers are safe with mechanical signatures authorizing checks to be handled in such a manner. Bank lockbox operations are critical. It seems we cannot ill afford to relax in our discretion when processing this type of banking activity. Furthermore, a check printed with an account/routing number is not something you can go down to the local grocery store, or Staples and buy. A bank has to authorize the release of such materials at an expense. So, this entire episode is really ridiculous when you think about the process involved. To make any kind of profit in this business, FastLoan4Me would have to locate each target customer, request blank checks with account/routing numbers, order checks and start typing checks. The company in question seem to believe they can continue to debit the same account from one month to the next, even after it has been proven, illegitimate. So, therefore they must have a stockpile of blank checks with the same account and routing number on them. How can these folks get there hands on these blank checks? Are the banks given these checks away.
Electronic signature on checks is bad news. We need to go back to the days of yesterday when handling checks. The proof is in this document. Rough draft!
