I bought a special order leather recliner couch at Gardiners. After about a year I started noticing cracks on the sides of the cushions. I thought it was just leather aging. Then within several months, more and more cracks appeared. That is when I reread my special order contract and found out that the couch had some vinyl pieces, which I was not told. Then the cracks started to rip apart untill all the sides of my cushions ripped open in strips. I called Gardiners and spoke to ass. manager Teresa Giles,I sent her a photo of the damage and she lead me to believe the sofa would be replaced. We corresponded for several months with no results. Finally I wrote her and said I was going to the BBB and my local tv station. After that she wrote me back that they can do nothing about the problem and not to contact them anymore just contact their lawyer. I am 60 years old and disabled and I feel they are taking advantage of an elder person. Please help me, anything you could do will be very much appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Update: 04/17/2013
No one seems to want to help me, so I am going to picket the furniture store.
