I met a guy on GAYMEN.com..He said he was from Kansas..After a few weeks I got a really nice letter from him. It turned out he was from Russia and could only write me from an internet cafe He spoke pretty good English...We corresponded for several months and then he said he wanted to come here and that his parents had saved for his wedding and that he had money to get here, but that he needed money for his Visa as it cost $1000 per month..He keep hinting that all he needed was $400 to pay for his Visas...Then he writes me and tells me that he was robbed of all the money. His stories and love seemed so real....so he asked for $300 more. I was sure he was telling me the truth..He said he ended up in the hospital....He sent me His itinerary and I even went to the airport...Then He emailed me and said he was still short $185...Mean while all the love letters kept coming...So I gave in and sent $190...He sent me his itinarary and and lots of love letters as usual. Then every thing stopped...He never wrote again..I tried to see what was up , if I had done something wrong

I have added John's passport and is address(?)His father is named also because all the Money grams were to be put in his name..

It saddens me to find John`s name here. He emailed a similar series of love letters. I have his exact name and adddress. When I informed him I needed a phone number besides his address to send flowers for Valentines day, he told me his phone was broken. I had already done some investigation which showed a number of scams for straight love coming out of that area of Russia. But of course I wanted John to be true blue.
I was more than willing to help with the money he needed for a passport. I am not sure what made him stop replying to my emails or why he never took advantage of me and my money.
But thanks for posting this complaint. I found it by searching for John`s name. My only loss has been time invested and perhaps some wasted emotions. John has wiped his profile from match.com. I live in Canada but the initial draw was that he was from Illinois (close to my home state of Wisc.) Hence his profile name there - manformIl (he couldn`t even spell from right).
I wish you luck getting your money back. And good luck in finding a suitable man. If he sounds to be to good to be true - he probably is! -

Thank you for your comment..It funny, he really must be busy,because he sent me an e-valentine..I debated on turning him in..I felt so stupid, I know better...
Did he sent you the pic on the beach?..In the black speedo..
Dont be surprised if he starts again..He stopped writing me for about 3 weeks and then reappear, and told me of his love for me ... Thanks again Robert..Keep in touch if you want. Steve -

- You are welcome. We were wchanging emails from Middle of November 2012 to Feb 8 2013. I was cautiously accepting him as "the one". Yeah - I had to check back at the emails and the black speedo beach shot was about in the middle of a dozen pics he sent my way. It would be interesting to keep in touch 'n' compare notes. And I have other email contact info that may or may not help your cause.

We started writing in Nov also. He sure did write romantic letters, did he call you his Prince?
I dont think any thing will come of this. I'm not sure what the USA can do in Russia...After not hearing from him for a week or so, I told him I was thinking of turning him in, that was probably a mistake..He's probably laying low.. -

It seems as if his responses were not cookie-cutter-like. I do not recall me being his prince. I am quite sure I want him to be the real deal still. His stories were for the most part very convincing and I still believe this was a match made in heaven.
But besides his blatant statement to me that I was the only man he was writing to, there were other unanswered questions on how he was expecting to stay with me. I already told him I am totally with the state of Nevada and their stance on same sex marriage. Committment ceremonies sound nice but that's as far as it goes for me.
And then for the fact that he would have to get a visa (tourist visa); for the USA because we would be travelling there from the YYC airport to California for my annual trip; and for Canada as that is where I live. Regardless, his trip to north america could take him just under 24 hours minimally.
I think the next questions are, "Are there more of us?" and if so, "How many?" LOL.
Maybe you can get your money back with Dear John Letters: The Steven Letters and The Robert Letters and ?. Just sayin'. :) -
