I met Paul Baker on a daiting site and he seemed like the perfect man. We started dating and things were moving forward. He introduced me to his 2 youngest children, we all did family things together. I was having custody issues and needed an attorney. He offered the services of a friend that handled custody cases and offered to pay the retainer for me. Said all he needed was to hold the title to my car for collideral. Said he had been burned before and if he put his money up, It didn't sound right and I declined. He went with a guilt trip - How much is my custody defense worth then? Like an idiot, I fell for it and gave him the unsigned title. He went down behind my back with the help of a friend that worked at AAAuto Club and had the title changed to show his name as new owner. Then he shoved it in my face and shoved me out the door. He threatened that he was connected and I didn't want to risk my daughters health by doing anything stupid. He stole my car out from under me. And laughed about it. I paid $3,500. for an attorney,and lost my only way to get to work and back. Then about October of 2012 he sent me a text message stating he was selling HIS CAR and was offering me "First right of refusal" before he placed an ad to sell it. He said he would give me a great deal and only charge me $3,000. If I wanted to but it back from him.He was placing the add for $5,000.I found out thru the grapevine ofthe dating site that he had done and was doing the same type of scamom other women and also conning homeowners upside down on their mortgages out of their homes. The house in Anaheim Hills he was living in was aquired that way. I can remember seeing alot of loan applications with quite a few different names on them.
