I was having an e-mail problem, so I tried to contact my provider Concast via Google. When putting in the information of what was wrong, it took me to ITOK, which I then assumed was part of Comcast. After talking to Itok, I agreed to have them fix my computer via remote set up and they were to install a new virus protection, as they said I had a virus and my current protection was not working. After this was done, they had the e-mail system up and I checked a couple of things before closing it and shutting down the computer for the night. The next morning when I went to boot it up, I got nothing but a blank black screen. I contacted them immediately (took all day to get them) and after talking to three different people, the last person insisted that I had hit a cable and caused the problem. All the cables are behind a very large desk with a top on it and there is no way I could do such a thing. He insisted that I move everything and check, which I explained that I physically (heart problems) not do. This man that I spoke to was very rude, degrading and insulting. He put me in tears and I finally hung up on him. I have retried to contact this company via e-mail to dispute their charge ($149.97) for the supposed service but all the e-mail comes back undeliverable. I also tried to contact the virus company the same way with the same results. I did finally send them a letter. Also I had a Thomas Kinkaid screen saver on my computer, that I do not have since they worked on my computer. I have had this on for years and I do not know if I will be able to replace it. I have disupted their charges with my credit card company and changed all my passwords so that they will not have any further access to my computer. I have since had someone remove the hard drive and I took it to a local repair shop and now it is working very well ($127.09) and they also installed another virus protection. And the initial screen that this company showed me to tell me that I had a virus, the local company showed me the same screen on their computer. This is just a ploy to get you accept their service. Itok claims that since I could use the computer the evening after they were done working on it, that they are completely free of any responsilility for the problem that I had when trying to boot it up the next morning.

  • Hi, JoAnn.

My name is April. I work for iTOK and let me first say that I am truly sorry you had this issue with your computer. I can only imagine how upsetting it would be to not be able to use, or even turn on, your computer. On top of that, it sounds like you had some difficulty when you tried to call in and get help. We use our computers so much these days so even the smallest issues can be very frustrating –even on our end sometimes.

According to our records, you were experiencing some email problems before contacting us and we were able to fix it. Everything was working fine until the next day when you weren’t able to turn your computer on. Our techs thought perhaps there was a hardware issue –something wrong with one of the cords. It looks like we ended up canceling your membership per your request and didn’t get a chance to work on the new issue with you.

I can assure you that our number one priority is your satisfaction. We are proud to say that the hard work we put into helping our customers tackle their computer issues has earned us an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. We would still love to help you tackle this issue. If you need help with this or any other computer problem, please call us at (866) 515 – 4865 or you can email me directly at [email protected] and I can you pointed in the right direction.

    Regards,
    April
