I signed up for the free 7 day trial of Ancestry.com. I submitted a request for a county and state search and in bold font it indicated $0.00 would be charged to my account. Once the button was submitted it stated $49.90 would be charged. I immediately sent them a message through their 'Contact Us' to cancel the request. There were no phone numbers on the site or any way to reach a live person. I did not get a reply from the email. The $49.90 was billed to my credit card. From my credit card website I was able to get a phone number and contact the company directly. It was useless. It's pathetic that 1)the cost of the request was stated as $0.00 until after submit was clicked 2) that there is no way to contact the company to inquire or stop a request, and 3) that they did not acknowlege or honor my request to cancel the transaction even though I immediately sent it through their website which was the only means available. DO NOT EVER EVER EVER USE THIS WEB-SITE!
