Mr Shin refuses to pay for work rendered. Claims that complete overhaul of clock movement including making from scratch a complete escapement was to cost only 375.00.
Mr Shin is quite wrong. I told him the escapement would cost 350.00 which he agreed. I said any other work would be more. Mr Shin said do cheap Wholesale price. Without the escapement working properly no other problems could be found because the rest of the movement looked good, other than someone had re-bushed the entire movement, which could be a big problem if not done right. I found 3 additional problems deep in the clock movement because of poor bushing placement. I have resolved those problems after 4.5 hours. There is also a part in the clock that I told him was going to be a problem possibly. He said it was good no problem. This could be true, but at this point I have proven it to be a problem. To make the part is expensive and he wants me to eat all cost of the repair except he said he would pay for the escapement cost of 375. Here is my take. Mr. Shim I will eat the 4.5 hours and you can have your clock back for 375.00 plus return shipping. The other part that needs made find someone else.
