me and my roommate looked at an apartment, liked it and went to the rental agency where i put up a $600 deposit. On 3/1/2013 i was supposed to pay the balance, get the keys and move in. On 3/1/2013 my roommate backed out of our agreement and i could not afford the apartment alone. I explained this to the rental agency and they said my deposit was non-refundable and I'm my $600 dollars. This isn't right, it took me over a year to save this money because my only income is $950.00 a month from SSI.
