I met Shawn McAndrews on an online dating site about 4-5 weeks ago. The site was BBP.com and he used the name bdboy70. We started talking and seeing each other in person and he came on pretty strong from the start. He told me that I was the one for him and that he was falling in love with me after only a short while. After a few weeks, he started telling me about terrible things that were happening in his life that were causing him financial stress. Feeling bad for him and wanting to help him, I offered him money, but he said no at first. Of course the fact that he said no made me feel like he was not trying to take advantage of me. On 2/27/2013, I gave him $500 which he hesitantly accepted. I never saw him again after that day. At that point I decided to pull a background check on him and it revealed several counts of theft, forgery and check fraud from 9 years ago as well as subsequent assault charges. I also found a 9 year old article via google about him being arrested on 10 counts each of theft and forgery upon investigation of his home. I certainly wish I would have checked this guy out before letting him into my heart and wallet.
