Posted Craigslist ad about 10 days ago to sell matcutter for $450. Received text from (312)572-9694 (downtown Chicago) supposedly wanting to buy matcutter. Through series of texts with person NEVER identifying themselves, they sent check for $2,550 and I was supposed to cash it and forward the rest to a "pick up agent" in MI (Missuori). I live in MT (Montana) and asked if it was a mistake and they said no.
Check from Midtown Properties, Inc. in Boston, MA and drawn from RBS Citizens National Assoc., RI. So, 4 states involved!
Check looks like a scam check on another website.
Obviously will not cash and will report to authorities.
