It all seems normal until you realized you’ve been SCAMMED. Billy Ray has been making his way across the United States scamming hundreds, possibly thousands of people of their time, money, resources, and energy. He needs to be stopped, because he is also manipulating women for sex and drugging them with their drinks, while he is portraying himself to be this famous Hollywood ghost writer for music lyrics, and a well know stand up comedian. Now, attempting to make his name known in the movie industry as a Producer. The scam starts with a Craig’s List add for a family network show casting call. This is my story.


A friend of mine informed me about a casting call that was local. She was hired to be one of the Sr. Producers for this family network tv show and movie. I decided to audition and went to the casting call on February 16th, 2013, just for the fun of it and wanted to support my friends new job title. The audition went great and they asked me to come back later that day for a second audition. Surprised that I did so well, since this was my first time auditioning for something, that seemed like a big deal. The second audition that day included about 20 others that returned for their second audition as well. Everything seemed normal, and consistent to what an audition would be like. The location was in a local hotel conference room, with a panel of about 7 people whom consisted of Billy Ray (the creator), his assistant, and five others including my friend. There were also two other girls that assisted in the holding areas, sending individuals up to the room when it was their audition time. The second audition was a bit different than the first because this time there was no script to read from and I had to improv with Billy Ray. Basically he wanted me to follow his lead with the story line and show as much energy as possible, as if we were truly having an argument that included a lot of vulgar language back and forth. Interesting concept for this “family show”, but I did well enough to get another audition for the following Saturday. The third audition, again many other individuals were called back and this was improv as well, no script. I was given scenarios that reflected three different emotions within a two-minute time frame. I thought that I did well but didn’t get an immediate feedback until later that evening when Billy Ray texted me “Hey how are you this is Billy Ray”. I replied “Doing great”. Shortly after that he called me, to let me know that I did great in the audition and that he was considering me for the role as Adena, his girlfriend. He preceded to inform me that this movie was based on his life story and Adena’s character was important because the person playing this role had to have chemistry with Benny Ray (Billy Ray’s character). Billy Ray explained that these two characters would get angry and pissed off at each other, then make up. Yes, Billy Ray said we have to have chemistry because the audience has to believe that we are a couple if your going to play this role. Billy Ray suggested that I come back to the hotel so we can further discuss this role. I replied no, that I was out of town already, and he was ok with that.

My instincts with this conversation lead me to the Internet as I started researching Billy Ray. When I discovered the production company he seemed to be associated with, Towntime Productions, I broadened my focus and researched them as well. I was lead to a news media outlet in Oklahoma that just posted a story the night before about a similar scam with Billy Ray. BINGO! A couple more searches and I came across an add that was posted last November 2012, someone looking for the camera men that did work in Colorado for Downtime Productions. This time the production did not even get started here in California, but we need to get this message out so this creep stops preying on innocent people looking for a job in the entertainment industry. I also want to encourage any female that had contact with Billy Ray, to contact Roseville Police Department. So far there is already a report with them from a girl that was taken advantage of with drugs in her drink and was shown explicit pictures.
