I was called by a man with a heavy Indian accent that stated he was from Microsoft. He was all concerned about the viruses on my computer, which were going to cause an imminent crash. I fell for his ploy because my computer was running extremely slow, which he said he could fix too. He provided his name, contact phone number, which was a Utah area code, and proceeded to direct me to a web site where he could control my computer remotely. He displayed all the hundreds of so called viruses I had and acted as though my computer was going to explode any second. I bought their one-year contract and away he went for several hours after he deleted my Norton anti-virus protection package I had purchased a week ago. When asked why he did so, he said Norton was no good and would interfere with their services. He then downloaded CCleaner, which I know now can be done for free, and spent the next several hours removing all the viruses that were slowing down my computer. Now that it has been six months later, I still have a slow computer, but am wiser to the cause which is very little RAM in an old laptop.

Today, another Indian guy tried from "Microsoft's Refundable Department" tried to "refund" my money for their poor services in the past. He wanted me to go to www.ammyy.com to let him control my computer remotely. Still smarting from the Mercaway scam, I led him on a wild goose chase until he finally gave up before telling me to go fuck my wife's husband.
