Complaint 213394 Details

I have been receiving a call from 347-298-3646 on my cell for a few weeks now and they never leave a message. Yesterday, this number called me at work and left a message. An indian guy or middle eastern guy who was going by the name of Alex Turner said he was calling from Cash Advance USA and adviced I owed money. I quickly called back and asked for a validation letter. The guy refused and kept demanding for me to make a payment immediately or he would have me arrested. I then asked for his address and again he refused to provide me with this information unless I paid. I quickly lost it and we began to yell at each other. The guy was cursing at me by this point and said he was calling the cops.

I called back after I got out of work and left a voicemail telling him not to ever call me at work again and he would need to provide me with a validation letter.

The next morning this guy called me at 5am and I quickly told him he had no right to call me at this time. The guy began to curse at me again and demanded me to pay and then we exchanged words and he hung up.

I have since filled a complaint with the FTC and the BBB.

I am sharing this story in case there is anyone out there who is being harrased by scammers such as this. If you ever experience a story similar to this, please file a claim with the FTC. The FTC cannot solve individual cases but do need various complaints in order for them to build their case.
