An un-authorized charge was placed on my Checking Account by way of my debit card. I attempted to call the 805 number my bank gave me. I received a message from a foreign speaking person that stated to please hold for the next available agent. I waited on hold for 5 minutes (a usual amount of time) and the music stopped. It appeared that something answered, but, there was dead air. This is another fraudulent on line company that is stealing peoples debit / credit card numbers and charging small debts of $9 - $11 without explanation. I advise everyone to stop using your Debit Cards in order to make purchases on pay bills on line. There is nothing wrong with sending payments in the mail using checks. Obviously, the use of debit cards and credit cards online is highly dangerous. In my case, me debit card was used only once to make a payment to a bill collector 5 days earlier.
