I purchased a ticket to Michigan from Salt Lake City. I was not able to return within the timeframe AMTRAK gives. They only validate their fares for one year.
I had a family emergency that did not allow me to meet this deadline. I called, spoke to a lady not very nice lady, and she informed me I would have to buy another fare.
I didn't ask for monetary refund, all I wanted was a credit to use the return ticket.
