The company appears to want to help you straighten up or improve your credit score. Who needs help with this? People with bad credit! Why is their credit score bad? Because they are unable to pay their bills! So Credit Karma sells your information to credit collectors listed on your report providing them with up to date contact information. See, a lot of people were hit hard with the past housing bubble not only losing their homes but also losing their jobs making it impossible to pay for anything forcing them to relocate and start over. So a collection company figured out a clever way to track people down who's addresses and phone numbers were no longer valid and make money at it. It allows past creditors to find you and harass you. Period. That is why its called Credit "Karma"! It's the old "bait and switch".

  • Hi I work at Credit Karma and we never sell or give out your information to any of partners. We offer free credit scores and in order to keep doing that we use an advertising business model. We only show you targeted ads for your financial situation. You can accept the offers or ignore them.I hope this helps better understand what we do.
