Looked for Elton John tickets for Sept 3, 2011 at Bethel Woods NY
on Craigslist
Found a listing from a women named Lisa Maris ([email protected].)
She claimed to be a flight attendant for British Airways and these tickets were gifted to her as employee of the month
Due to her flight schedule she was unable to attend but was willing to sell 6 tickets at $100 each.
She said she would use a company called DPD (similar to UPS) which is located in England
She stated it was a secure way for me to get the tickets since they would not release the money to her until I notified DPD.
She even provided email addresses for DPD that when I opened them seemed legit.
But the only way I could send money was through Western Union.
She stated pay it to the agents name not DPD. The name she gave me was Heather Kennedy in Rome.
So I go to Western Union and send the money plus $50 Western Union service charge
I receive an email from Lisa that she shipped the tickets and I would
receive the tickets the next day
I even received emails from what I thought was DPD ([email protected]) stating that needed a copy of the receipt from Western Union. Which I scanned and sent to them.
To this point everything seemed legit
Needless to say that the tickets never arrived the next day and no return emails from Lisa or DPD
I have copies of all correspondence including the Western Union receipts.
