I responded to a listing for golden retriever puppies on hobbybreeder.com. I received emails from "Christopher Jena" who told me his wife is the breeder and he is an electrical engineer who is looking for happy homes for the puppies. He asked me all the right questions re: where do I live, do I have kids, do I plan to breed, etc. I responded to his questions and asked several of my own. The next email I received was from him saying he has decided to give me the dogs and that he was in Portland Oregon (the website showed they were in Jacksonville, FL) and would courier the puppies to me and to be home in the morning. All he asked me for was my name, address, phone numbers. He said I would just need to pay the courier service $300.00 and that he wasn't interested in money, only a happy loving home for the puppies. I was hesitant and my husband googled his email address (which I will do from get-go from here on out) and discovered the scam. Please be forwarned...DO NOT be fooled like I was.
