I experienced the same scam. I was contacted in August for an ad. The "acceptance of contract" form was so official looking, it never occurred to me that it wasn't legitimate. A couple of weeks later, I was contacted again for added distribution. This time, they offered me an even better deal, which I agreed to....stupid!! The contact offered to simply use my credit card on file. After I was unable to get them to send me an invoice for the additioanl $500, I became suspicious. The last communications I had with the company before they stopped returning my calls was from Jocelyn Wright, a Graphic Designer working on my ad. Her email address was [email protected]. The website for www.countryclubquarterly.com was up and running until today (12/3/12). Before they took it down, I called all the vendors that advertised in the phony online magazine examples in southern California and Naples, FL. 2 of the businesses called me back. They were legitimate businesses. Both said they were contacted by Coast to Coast Publishing Group. I called Coast to Coast today. The person I spoke to told me that the magazine CCQ used was actually their magazine. He said they were responsible for shutting down Country Club Quarterly, and they would get their legal department to send me some information in order to help me get my credit card charges reversed. By the way, the first charge was for Country Club Quarterly. The second charge showed up as Prestige World....same telephone number (516-860-7104
