This company sent somoene to my house to tell me what a great product and service they offered and gauranteed me all during the sales interview that I could cancel at any time if I was not satisfied. They also told me that if I was satisfied and kept their service for 18 months I could keep the "premium" freezer they provided.

It only took a few months to realize the food was not the "gourmey high end restaurant" food they said it was but the prices were! When I called to cancel I was informed that I had purchased over $4,000 worth of food from them. When I told them that the sales represenative assured us that we could quit at any time if we were not satisfied, their response from their facility manger was; "I have a recording of you accepting the sale." My response was, "Do you also have the recording of your sales rep assuring us that we could cancel at any time! No one would sign up to buy $4,000 worth of an untried product with out recoarse!"
This management person then offered to settle with me for $900. I accepted that offer even thought it meant I was paying $900 for a $300 freezer. He called back a few mnutes later and said he had to have at least $1,800. I told him to forget it, that I would not pay.

Sevice Foods filed a suite against me. I responded with what is stated above. I never heard anything else from them until I recieved a letter from thier attorney stating that they had gotten a judgement against me for $5,000 but they would settle for $1,800. I told thier legal represnative what had happened and I would pay the original offer of $900 which they again offered to Service Foods who declined it. I told the legal represantive I would sue for relief and he said that I should because Service Foods had done this to many people.
When interest rates droped I went to refinance my house and found that this company had a lien on my house. At this point I decided, after talking to a lawyer that it would cost me $2,000 in legal fees to try and reverse the judgment, to contacted Service Foods leagal represanative to tell them I would pay the $1,800 settlement they had offered. I found out that the mortgage company had already contacted Service Foods with an inquiry for me to refinance and so Service Foods withdrew the second settlement offer that was double the first and now wanted $5,123. I hired a lawyer and am fighting back!!! Do not believe anything a Service Food represantive tells you. You do business with them at great risk they that may misrepresent what you think you are agreeing to, and you will end up owing them thousand of dollars when you thought you were trying thier services with out obligation.
