I logged onto my online banking and found a "reoccuring" charge for $11.99. The wording was mysterious so I looked it up and quickly realized it was FYE's VIP membership program. I went back as far as my online banking would allow and found charges all the way back to June of 2011 - I honestly have no idea how far back it goes and I can't remember the last legitimate charge I made at the FYE store - the one in the local mall isn't even there anymore. I called another store and they quickly gave me the 877.351.2131 number to cancel. Then I had to argue with the woman about the account, that I had no membership information, and that I did NOT want to keep the account. I did get a cancellation confirmation number and she provided a fax # 800.964.8115 to send them a letter to ask for a refund. I went to my bank and cancelled that card and am disputing as much as they allow. I am also reporting them to the FTC and BBB. What I believe happened was that I made a small legit purchase in person some time ago. Then it seems the cashier added my information to a membership without my consent. It's unfortunately an easy amount to miss if you use your card often and aren't very carefully reviewing your account.
