I went on "craigslist" to buy/trade my 2005 vulcan kawasaki motorcycle that was in excellent condition.
I came across an advertisement for a 1984 Corvette. It was listed on "barter".I saw a picture of the vehicle on said site .
I contacted the seller.I sent pictures of the motorcycle I was to use as a trade.
After a conversation on the phone with the seller of the Corvette,
I traveled 80 miles on my motorcycle to the sellers home in Baytown Texas to view the Corvette.
It looked and sounded like a good trade.
I gave the seller,'Rod" my title to the motorcycle and recieved a title which was not yet in "Rods"/seller), name, for the Corvette. and drove the eighty miles back home with the Corvette.
after i started looking over the Corvette, I came across several mal functioning parts.I had to repair in order to get the vehicle in compliance with my state inspection requirements. As I inspected it further, it came to my attention that it was going to be an insurmountable amount of money just to be able to repair this vehicle.I contacted the seller via phone and was told by him, sorry, a deal is a deal.I feel a deal is not made unless both parties abide by the deal and are satisfied.I am at this point without transportation and cannot see any way to obtain at least $2000.00 to be able to have this vehicle in compliance for state inspection. Also, I went to the trouble to order some minor parts and have it insured because I just knew it was going to be able to be running by the weekend so I could seek employment the following monday.
This man, " Rod got away with fraud and a $6000.00 motorcycle.
I am devestated and seeking someone to help me to recieve compensation. Also, I called him and told him what was going on with the Corvette and asked him for my bike back and he had already sold the bike and he laughed at me and told me to,"man up".
This has destroyed me.Please help me.
Thanking you in advance,
Kenneth
